CTMS 7th/8th Wrestling

Wrestling at CTMS is considered a non-cut sport. Wrestling is an awesome opportunity for athletes of any size to participate. You will always match-up against teammates and opponents who are in the same weight class as you. Please consider joining wrestling if you would like to improve your footwork, body control, and stamina. The meets are always a fun time plus you get to hang out with your friends/teammates and cheer them on as they compete. 

To participate in wrestling, attend wrestling practice after school from 3:40 pm - 5:00 pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The first practice of the wrestling season will be on Monday November, 7th from 3:40pm to 5:00pm in the weight room.

Wear a CTMS shirt and shorts, wrestling shoes or tennis shoes, and mouthpiece if you have braces. Headgear is great but optional.

Practices will consist of stretching, learning specific wrestling techniques, practicing wrestling moves, and scrimmaging against teammates of similar size. 

In most wrestling meets, all athletes will participate. At the district meet, you must place 1st or 2nd and/or be invited in order to advance to the state meet. The first wrestling meet will be held on Tuesday, November 15th.

Wrestling Remind is for the parents and athletes who will be participating in wrestling this season. Join using the code @ctmsw by entering it into the app or by texting @ctmsw to the phone number 81010. Some communication may also be sent through the wrestling GroupMe which can be provided at the practices. Looking forward to a great wrestling season!
