National Junior Honor Society

NJHS Logo

The Cross Timbers National Junior Honor Society is an organization established to recognize outstanding middle school students. NJHS serves to honor students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship, and character. NJHS challenges students to become actively involved in school activities and community service through volunteering. Students are required to complete 10 service hours by the end of 8th grade and help with a school wide service project.

7th and 8th grade students are eligible to apply for NJHS in the Spring. In order to be considered for the Cross Timbers National Junior Honor Society students must have a 90 average for all classes and be in good standing in citizenship and conduct. Applications are available the Monday after Spring Break and are due one week later. Information about applying will be sent before Spring Break. If accepted, students will attend the Induction Ceremony in April, where they will be formally inducted into the National Junior Honor Society. In order to remain in NJHS students must not be assigned to In School Suspension, or ISS, and they are to maintain a 90 grade average for all classes. See Ms. Carpenter for any questions regarding the Cross Timbers National Junior Honor Society.

**Students are requested to bring 1-2 canned food or toiletry items to be donated each meeting
