Every year, the CTMS PTA holds Cotillion for our 6th graders. Held on every Friday night (in the CTMS SAC) during the month of February, students and their peers learn various dances and social graces, all with a focus on having fun and developing self-confidence. Instruction is provided by professional dance instructors.

Students will learn dances related to the theme of the evening and light refreshments will be provided for the first 3 events. The last event is considered the "Grande Finale". It is the only one where dinner will be provided and parents are encouraged to attend.

We can not make this happen without committed volunteers who dedicate their time and skills to make this a memorable event for our children. We have set budgets for food, decorations (we already a fair amount of decorations from past years), dance instructors and a DJ (finale).

Once we have positions filled, we will have a group meeting to discuss all planning details so that each nights committee is aware of expectations and division of responsibilities before moving forward.

The dates, times and themes are as follows:

Friday, Feb 2nd, 6:30-8:30 - Sock Hop (50's Theme)

Friday, Feb 9th, 6:30-8:30 - Western

Friday, Feb 16th, 6:30-8:30 - Disco (70's Theme)

Friday, Feb 23rd, 6:30-9:00 - Mardi Gras (Semi formal)

More information and formal invitations will go out the first week of December.

Cost per student (covers all 4 nights) is $80. CTMS PTA financial scholarships will be made available and those decisions will be made by the school administration.

If you have any questions about volunteer opportunities or specific jobs, feel free to contact this year's co-chairs.
