It’s time for another Teacher Tidbit Tuesday!
Today we are featuring Stephanie Maupin, who joined us last year, but brought a ton of social studies and AVID experience with her.
Stephanie was born in Virginia Beach and moved to North Richland Hills when she was 3. She was an awkward, class clown, athletic kid in middle school.
Mrs. Maupin spent 3 years at TCC and finished her degree at Texas Woman's University in Denton.
She and Coach Maupin (from GHES) have been married for 17 years and have three amazing girls, Maddie 13, Skylar 10, and Peyton 5. They have a dog named George!
Stephanie loves to read historical fiction. As a mom of three her hobbies also include watching her girls play volleyball and basketball!
Ms. Maupin’s favorite thing about teaching is watching students’ faces light up when they get something correct, and realizing that they aren't "bad" at social studies. Learning was difficult for her and she had amazing teachers who were patient and kind, and that's reflected in how she teaches. She says “I hope my students know how much I love teaching them.”
Ms. Maupin’s favorite thing about CTMS is “the community we have. The work we do on our campus is difficult, but so rewarding. I couldn't do what I do without the support of our amazing staff!”
One fun tidbit about Stephanie is that she is probably the most competitive person on this campus. She’ll be the first to tell you that she has already won three things and it's only September! Another fun fact is that her teaching partner is Coach Arnold, who is also her brother!

This week, the Wolf Pack will celebrate Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon Week started as a grassroots effort to honor Enrique "Kiki" Camarena, a Drug Enforcement Administration Agent who was tortured and killed in Mexico in 1985. In honor of Kiki's memory and his battle against illegal drugs, friends and neighbors began to wear red badges of satin. Parents then began to form coalitions using Camarena as their model while embracing his belief that one person can make a difference. These coalitions adopted the symbol of Camarena's memory, the Red Ribbon. Today, the Red Ribbon serves as a catalyst to mobilize communities to educate youth and encourage participation in drug prevention activities.
In supporting the vision of RRW of keeping all students healthy and drug free, the CTMS PALS created dress up days for our pack. As you prepare for dress up days, all items must follow the CTMS dress policy and there will be no face coverings. See below for the list of dress up days.
PALS will host a pep rally on Thursday, October 31 at 8:15 a.m. in honor of Red Ribbon Week.
Have you joined CTMS PTA yet this year? What about your student, grandparents, and/or other family members? Sign up by October 31st and you'll be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card to Amazon! Link: https://www.ctmspta.org/form/m/284703
